Health Fair & Scientific Presentations — Faith, Science and Service in Action:

Saturday, July 19, 2025, marked another powerful day of the 4th ICMFEL International Christian Medical Conference, bringing together healthcare professionals, students, families, researchers, and community members for a day centered on both immediate health needs and sustainable solutions. From the morning Health Fair at New Convent Outreach Ministries 25th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia, Liberia the afternoon scientific presentations which took place at the same NEWCOM, Day 2 demonstrated that improving healthcare requires both compassionate service today and innovative thinking for tomorrow.

Health Fair: Bringing Care to the Community

From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, NEWCOM became a hub of health education, screening, and community engagement. Families, conference participants, and members of the community had the opportunity to receive basic health services while interacting directly with healthcare professionals and volunteers. The atmosphere reflected ICMFEL’s commitment to making healthcare more accessible while promoting prevention and healthy living.

Participants benefited from practical services and information, including:

• Blood-pressure checks and basic health screenings

• Nutrition guidance and healthy-living education

• One-on-one conversations with healthcare professionals

• Health awareness and preventive-care information

• Compassionate, faith-based encouragement and prayer

The Health Fair showed that healthcare is not only about treating illness after it occurs. Prevention, education, early detection, and community awareness can help people take better control of their health. For many participants, a simple health screening or conversation with a medical professional provided an opportunity to better understand their health and take the next step toward appropriate care.

Scientific Presentations: Turning Knowledge Into Solutions.

At 1:00 p.m., the program shifted, where scientific presentations continued until 5:00 p.m. Healthcare professionals, students, and other participants explored research, practical experiences, and approaches related to community health, faith-based interventions, and sustainable healthcare programs designed for Liberia’s context. The sessions provided an important platform for exchanging knowledge and challenging participants to think about healthcare beyond short-term interventions.

The discussions also encouraged collaboration. Students and professionals engaged with presenters, asked questions, exchanged ideas, and explored opportunities for future partnerships. This exchange of knowledge highlighted an important reality: Liberia’s healthcare challenges require collective solutions. Medical professionals, churches, NGOs, educational institutions, communities, and development partners all have valuable roles to play in building stronger systems.

The true strength of Day 2 was the connection between its two major activities. The Health Fair addressed immediate community health needs, while the scientific presentations focused on knowledge, research, innovation, and sustainable solutions.
