3rd International Christian Medical Conference:

Monrovia, Liberia — June 29–30, 2024: The International Christian Medical Fellowship (ICMFEL) successfully hosted its 3rd International Christian Medical Conference at New Covenant Outreach Ministries (NEWCOM), 25th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia. Under the theme “The Role of the Church, the Community and the Individual in Healthcare,” the two-day gathering brought together medical professionals, church leaders, students, and health advocates to explore how faith, knowledge, and collective action can contribute to a healthier Liberia.

SESSION I: WORKSHOP I-IV: THE ROLE OF THE INDIVIDUAL IN HEALTHCARE

Day One: Faith, Community & Individual Responsibility

The first day featured seminar and workshop sessions from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, addressing the vital roles individuals, communities, and churches play in healthcare. Mrs. Sophie Paye Workanuan, Pastor Jordan Tetley, Rev. Dr. Venicious Reeves, Dr. Moses Ziah, and Mrs. Melvinal Diamond Elliott Sankolo facilitated sessions covering individual responsibility, community healthcare, the Church’s role, and reaching at-risk youth. The discussions encouraged participants to see healthcare not only as a medical responsibility, but as a shared mission requiring compassion, commitment, and action.

Day Two: Advancing Healthcare Through Knowledge

The second day focused on scientific presentations from 1:00 PM–5:00 PM, featuring distinguished medical professionals, including Dr. Augustine K. Ballah, Neurosurgeon; Dr. Deddeh E.P. Supuwood, Medical Oncologist; and Dr. Jonathan Minagogo Hart, Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Their presentations provided valuable medical knowledge and encouraged continued learning, professional collaboration, and stronger approaches to addressing healthcare challenges in Liberia.

Celebrating Commitment: Certificates of Participation

The conference concluded with the presentation of certificates to participants, recognizing their commitment to learning, professional development, Christian service, and the advancement of healthcare. The certificates served as a lasting reminder that every participant has a role to play in creating healthier families and communities. For ICMFEL, the conference represented more than two days of discussion, it was an investment in people who can carry the message of compassionate, Christ-centered healthcare forward.
